Windows update paralyzes Linuxes again, again
Image: A screen with Windows updates booting, with Linuxes unable to boot, has resulted in no end of problems for users. linux windows windows-update *
I recently sat down at my desktop and booted up my machine like I do every morning. I needed to get some work done so I required a working computer. But this is not what happened. Instead I was faced with a Windows update which prevented my Linux from booting entirely, forcing me into the hell that is Windows.
That is not what I had planned. Image: Many users have reported having issues where Linux fails to boot with Windows updates zfs windows windows-update linux-failure *
This is an issue that keeps on happening with no end in sight. Will Linux ever be able to boot normally again?
Background
The issue is due to Windows boot becoming overly restrictive and outdated. As time goes on and updates keep on coming out, booting Linux becomes increasingly difficult. Image: Windows updates have become increasingly restrictive windows windows-update linux *
My Experience
I have been using Linux for years now and have never had any issues with booting. But recently I have been having issues with Windows updates. Image: I have been having issues with Linux booting due to Windows updates zfs windows windows-update linux-failure *
I tried everything from changing my boot order to disabling secure boot. Nothing seemed to work. Eventually my machine was rendered unusably slow and crashed completely. Image: My PC became unusably slow and crashed due to Windows updates windows windows-update linux-crash *
